5th day @ Ngee Ann Poly, THE LAST DAY

Hello!!!(: I felt so strange that i was not rushing any blog posts today, starting to miss the aem already... Hahas!!(:Really enjoyed my time at Ngee Ann Poly, felt so sad that we have to leave...='( Had to rush our projects today, so much stuff to complete >.< Was rushing the report like crazy...

Had a short quiz in the morning(sobT.T got 5 wrong), then carried on with the project, and we had morning tea(: Went for lunch at Makan Place again, went to Hungry Jack with Brenda and Hannie, ate the same thing-chicken chop(: (chicken again for the 4 days in a row O.O)Bought some desserts with Hannie and Asyiqin(: Thanks t'cher for giving us at least 2hours for our lunch(:(1hr for project+ 1hr for food:D) Then went back to finish our project and presented it along with the rest of our groups(:( i think i messed it up..=X)

Went back quite late @ around 5.40pm, went up the bus and could not find my ez-link, found it later in my notebk(it dropped out of my wallet=.= LAME!) Had to drop off at some bus stop cus no spare change. At least I managed to get home in the end=)..ah well...talk about having an unusual day. LOL! All in all , I really enjoyed the AEM, it has really been an eye opener for me to see what life in poly would be like!(:

THANKS MR CHAN FOR BEING SUCH AN AWESOME TEACHER DURING THIS PERIOD!!!(: (though there are times that we do get distracted during lessons(facebook)=X Do forgive us =X )

Got to get started on my other stuff..*hiaz*...i'm really gonna miss Ngee Ann poly and all its sweets and food and the AEM course and all...='( I'm so glad that I came for this course =)

4th Day at Ngee Ann Poly (: 28/10/09

Kinda rushing this post, have yet to finish the PBL report T.T
Went to school at normal school time today(:
Wore PE attire to sch, DM would not scold cus sec1s having interclass games(:
Had to meet up with red cross teacher along with Carine
She wanted to sort us into grps to plan for holiday activities
Collected my pink IC along with Asyiqin, Hannie Kai Hui & Brenda,
I looked so strange in it, so did the rest O.O

Reached Ngee Ann early today, Mr Chan was taking us again
Talked about how blogs get their income and reasons why items are cheaper on blogshops..ect.
Most of us were facebooking at the same time again...(:
Had morning teabreak as usual and went back to continue with our blogs
Had to create blogshop and update our group and personal blogs.
But everyone wanted to watch Final Destination 2, so teach played it on his comp
The scenes were really gross and disturbing, ppl were just dying everywhere...
Teacher cut it off in the end
cus he did not want us to watch too much violence and get disturbed
We were let off early for lunch(:
Headed to Makan Place again which was less crowded(:
Sat with Carine and Hui Juan(:
Had to be seperated from Asyiqin, Brenda, Hannie& Kai Hui
Cus not enough place for all T.T
But most of us all ate from the same store anyway(:
I had some 'ban mian' for lunch
Crapped a lot with Carine and Hui Juan during meal!!xD
Felt so full aft eating it... could not finish it in the end =O
All 3 of us bought a mago flavoured snow-blended drink from Koufu again(:
Saw some booths and performance along the way back to class(:
The drums ensemble there were so loud that the ground was actually vibrating O.O
We're old already our poor hearts could not take it =X
Quickly went back to class(:
Then we went for our field trip to Singtel near Raffles Place(:
Had to change our ez-link/IC for visitor pass there
Guess they do not want anyone to freely trespass (govt secret?)O.O
Took the lift to the 32nd floor(the tower was super high =O)
Mr Mak gave us a guided tour of the call centre(or something)
We had to be very quiet cus ppl there were taking customer's calls
He explained to us abt what they did,
and how the database systems there was being managed(wow...)
But we weren't allowed to take pics there...
Mr Mak talked for very long, he explained a lot of stuff..
but it was quite interesting cus it's something unfamiliar to all of us(:
Glad that i gained more knowledge today:D
Mr Mak was very serious when he talked,
he looked very stressed, tired and jaded to me
guess this can't be avoided when you enter the cooperate world =O
really wonder if anyone of us here will become like him in the future
I sure hope not!! =X

Can't believe it's gonna be the last day tmr!! T.T So sad
At least there's no more blogposts like this to rush anymore:D
But i guess really had fun going out of Ngee Ann and learning new things(:

Day 3 at Ngee Ann Poly

The day started off with a pretty nice whether^^ Like yesterday, we were allowed to wear our home clothing to Ngee Ann Poly(: We had to wait outside the school gate. Good thing there's no school today yay!^^ (promotion exercise); Unlike yesterday, it was kinda embarassing being in front of our other classmates =X Mr Chee was our Lecturer for today(: Felt really sleepy during the lesson in the morning, we were learning about the importance of a database and how to use the microsoft access 2007 to create a database, it's kinda like a tool used by businessmen or companies to compute all their information. It's pretty cool!(:

Had a hard time catching up cus i kept on nodding my head off during lesson...zzzZZZ T.T Went to Makan Place again and ate at their Japanese store. The queue was veeerrrryyyyyy loooonngg T.T Had this Terriyaki Chicken with egg on a hot plate with Japanese rice:DDD It was just delicious-cio!^^ I LOVE JAPANESE FOOD MAN!!:DD And it was at an affordable price of just $3.00!!!xDD Perhaps it's because it is supposed to sell at student prices to cater to the mass needs of those students at Ngee Ann Poly(: Bought some "snow blended passion fruit bubble tea" along the way back to class(:( it's a lot finer than ice-blended bubble tea^^) ,

Then we went to the NUS CRISP( Centre for Remote Imaging, Sensing and processing) to learn about and view satellite imaging and it was just so SUPER COOL!!!!!

I'm not just talking about that satellite, i'm talking about the centre which controls the satellites itself!! XDD Can you imagine it? ALL the data is being taken from space and transfered there, the whole place was full of machines which all looked so complicated!! And to think that they even still have time to handle external clients coming in to buy the information Just like those scenes of people wroking at some base lookin professional and all!!! Every single person working there all looked so absorbed into their work... (and all of them wore spectacles 'O-O') We also had a talk there and got to learn how this was related to e-commerce. Then we went to view a nearby and actual satellite dish that receives the signals from those in space... Here are the pictures I've taken to illustrate my day(:

The lecture @ NUS Dr. Something(can't rmb his name =x) was explaining to us how the satellites work, their uses and their importance, it was really comprehensive!! O.O

Did you know that satellites have to be programmed where to turn to one day in advance, unlike in Science fiction movies?

My Second Day at Ngee Ann 26/10/2009

Hey there!:D Posting this post 1 day late cus I was posting on my group blog yesterdayT.T Though poly life seems rather relaxed, there's actually lots of stuff to do, like how i'm rushing to complete this post and another post... We started the day in a relaxing way at the same computer lab. Mr Chan, our lecturer gave us time to carry on posting more content and updating our blogs. We also created our Adsense accounts there, which was part of the project(: Many of us were also playing facebook at the same time =X

As usual, everyone was gorging on sweets again!xD And Asyiqin, Brenda, Hannie and I kept on trying to disturb each other by taking pictures of each other to post on our blogs, LOL!!( we do need the pictures)We all had a morning tea break at around 10.30am, which was provided for us(: The beehoon was yummy(: But Carine did not eat it cus she says judges a beehoon by its colour -.-''' LOL!xD Hui Juan and I did not eat the chicken cus Hui Juan also judges it by its colour and I judge its oil =.=(double lameness) HAHAHAHA!!XD We went back to continue with our session.

Then we went to Makan Place again for our lunch. At first we got a table, then a group of vain looking girls snatched it from us O.O, they're so immatured =( It was soo crowded, luckily we managed to get a table for all seven of us:D Asyiqin, Brenda, Carine, Hannie, Hui Juan, Kai Hui and I(: We all bought it from the same Korean food store, mine was some teriyaki chicken and fried rice egg wrap, Oishii des!!! xD Kept on taking photos for our blogs, somtimes, I feel like we're really despo...LOL!xD

We were allowed to explore city plaza by ourselves and to take some pics for our projects at the same time=) Went with Asyiqin, Brenda and Hannie to take some pictures of this shop. Then this auntie at the shop confonted us, along with a old man!! It was sooo dumb!! I was telling them that we were just going around asking for their details because we might have a business deal for them(people only talk when there's $$ and many ppl always enquire like this) but they did not even understood what a blogshop was =.= I guess it ultimately is our fault, but that old man even took a photo of us to threaten us without giving us a chance for explanation!! O.O

You know, it's his own loss if he bursts his blood capillaries while ranting at us...(LOL!) Felt very hurt and upset, so did the rest. Deleted his shop pic in the end. We went around asking other shops after that, all the other shops also seemed rather guarded and protective too. Most of the store aunties there looked firece o_o Perhaps it's the intense competition in the mall that made them this way, it's no wonder that that mall was super quiet was/is never popular with people liike us...

The rest were like releasing their sadness by blaming me, saying that it was wrong of me to mention blogshop, felt so miserable that day='( They didn't understand...They will only talk to money.. I've understood that there's bound to such happenings in this world, but i didn't expect for it to happen in such a way... Going through this reminds me that it's a hard hard world out there, everyone's alway struggling to make a living. I can understand that they are afraid that we're commercial spies, but I think that old man still kept our photo even after we deleted the picture of his shop -.-''' But i do know that going through this experience would help me to understand better, that this world ain't such a pretty place, there'll be even worser ppl out there but i'll be more prepared for it next time(:

Went to KFC to eat away all my troubles that day after that, then took the MRT home(: Looking back and reflecting on what happened the day before, I've realise that it's a good thing now that I am more aware of how this world is like. Least I get even more hurt by when i enter the working world in the future.

A trip to Ngee Ann Poly and my fun filled saturday activities^^

Yo there!(: I'm posting this post because i've to come up with a personal blog for my E-business dynamics AEM at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Wanted to come up with a new blog, but i'm really so so so busy T.T it's so much more troublesome, so i'll just make do with my current blog :D (i did it anyway-.-''')

Went to Bukit Pangjang Plaza's Graden plaza to day for my cca assignment with my juniors in the earlier part of the day=) , our school was holding some CCA open house cum Deepavali Celebrations and I had to take pictures of that event, their performance was just AWESOMENESS MAN! My teacher-in charge went home early, so i got to bring the DSLR cannon camera home, SWEET!!!XDXD I had fun^^ so did all my juniors(who were all slacking during the performance O.o)

Oops...back to the main point, so i took a step into Ngee Ann on Friday and i felt awed at how huge and nice looking that place was, it gave me a kind of homey(: yet relaxed feeling. But the moment we stepped out of the bus, dozen of eyes started turning to our direction-from the never ending crowd of Ngee Ann students streaming into the school.

Isn't Ngee Ann poly HUGE? O.O

That was someting that all of us feared since our school unform was a striking red and black colour, like KFC or SMRT -.-'''. We completely stood out from the whole sea of people, which invited curious stares and laughter.

I felt like a goldfish being studied from head to toe in an open aquarium as we headed to the sch of accountancy and business...-.-''' --->randomness

Our lecturer was Mr Chan, and he gave us a brief introduction and talked to us about life in a Polytechnic. I liked the way they taught their students, being open to creativity and all, unlike Primary and Secondary school where we were told to shut up. But too much freedom makes me feel a little uncomfortable...hmmm...i guess you really must have self discipline if you really wanna do well in poly.

When we toured around the campus, we got to get the glimpse of the student facilities there which was veeeerrrrryyy cool! I really liked the library and the 'Myspace@72' where students could just chill out and study or play after classes^^ They had air conditioned spaces for studens to play indoor games after school together and they even had TVs in the library for personal use!!!

And the Variety of food there was like WOW!!!!IT'S A FOOD HAVEN THERE I TELL YOU!! WOOHOO!!XDXD I bet you could find almost all the different kinds of food in Singapore there!!

The Makan place(:

The largest air-condition canteen was at 'MAKAN PLACE', which i think is at least six or seven times bigger that the Food Junction we have at Lot 1!!!! I had lunch there with Brenda, Hannie and Kai Hui(: We ate subway sandwhiches while KaiHui bought some light snacks to much on. And of course, those glaring stares still could not be avoided...=o

Asyiqin, Carine and Hui Juan could not find any seats, so they did not eat any lunch at all =O, it's good thing that morning and afternoon teabreaks were still provided(:

Most of the students there were in T-shirts, shorts and slippers. Touring the place makes me feel that poly life is much more laid back and relaxed, as compared to JC(duh!).

Makes me really wonder, would polytechnic life be suitable for me? Would going to a polytechnic help lessen the pressure? Or would going to a JC be a better choice? Hmm.....

After lunch, we headed back for another lesson by Mr Chan. Blogger and twitter was down so we could not create the accounts needed as part of our projects, but we when on with another lesson anyway(: The lesson started off quite interesting but then my mind started to wander away... So did the rest.

Humans have an average attention span of about 45 minutes and by then,

eveyone was just...=X(i don't have to spell it out for you to know).

Luckily, there was this LARGE bowl of sweets at the front for all of us and that was what keep all of us awake!:D It was like a buffet of free sweets:DDD YAYyE!^^ Everyone grabbed a fistful of it and we were just munching it throughout the whole lesson!=D I was like wolfing a dozen of them per second!!(i think i'm going to be sick*urph*=s) Hope that there'll be enough to last the next 4 days! O.O

We all left Ngee Ann at around 5pm. There was no direct bus from Ngee Ann to Choa Chu Kang. Had to stop at some bus stop in the middle of nowhere to transfer to bus 67-.-''' Reached home around 5.30pm and rested for a while, I was sooo tired man!!! Had tuition from 8pm till about 10pm, I was zombiefied by the time i reached home (yes, it's the night of the living-dead).

Nevertheless, I really had fun touring around Ngee Ann and experiencing what poly life is about=D, can't wait for the field trip to city plaza on monday!!=)))))
